Lowering a classic camper van is one of the first modifications many owners choose.
There are several methods to lower a van, each producing different results.
Owners lower their campers for a variety of reasons: improved handling, fitting into low garages, or simply for that iconic, stylish look.
Standard Lowering
Our most popular option is the Standard Lowering Service, which drops the van by 3–4 inches.
Unlike workshops that simply cut and weld the front axle, we fit adjustable weld-on beam adjusters. This gives you full flexibility to raise or lower your van in the future.
The service also includes new uprated front & rear shock absorbers, while the rear ride height is adjusted by turning the rear splines.
The result: your van fits most garage heights, has sharper, more responsive steering, looks better, and rides slightly firmer over bumps—while retaining around 80% of its original comfort.
Slam Job Lowering
If you’re looking for a more aggressive stance, we offer a range of custom lowering solutions tailored to your vehicle and desired ride height.
Our Slam Job options are available in a variety of configurations, including:
Ball Joint Drop Spindles
King & Link Pin Conversions
We’ll advise on the best setup for your classic VW to achieve the look you want while maintaining safe geometry and drivability.
Custom Lowering
For more advanced suspension modifications, we offer bespoke lowering solutions tailored to your classic VW.
Particularly popular with Split Screen vans, we can carry out IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) and Straight Axle conversions alongside lowering work to achieve your desired stance and driving characteristics.
Every custom build is different, so all work is priced individually.
